GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for Credit Administration’s ongoing monitoring of the Bank’s Country Risk exposure and assists with managing the Country Risk program. Supports the Country Risk Program Manager within the following functional duties:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Country Risk Analysis:
  • Evaluate risk associated with countries or regions in which the Bank is conducting or planning to conduct business.
  • Prepare a Country Risk Score (CRS) Model for countries or regions in which the Bank is conducting or planning to conduct business as needed.
  • Prepare Country Credit Risk memos that include a quantitative and qualitative assessment of the risks associated with a country or region.
  • Monitor the Credit Risk department’s data maintenance and annual calibration of the CRS Model.
  • Assist with updating and revising the Country Risk Policy as needed.
2. Periodic reporting of Country Risk and Quarterly Review of Country Exposure Limits:
  • Assist with the Country Exposure Limits reporting, including Credit Administration’s memos reported to the Credit Committee and Board of Directors. This includes review and use of the Controller department’s quarterly Aggregated Country Risk Exposure Report.
  • Validate country risk exposure totals provided from various of the Bank’s departments that engage in international activities and transactions.
3. Daily routine duties:
  • Frequent monitoring of country risk exposures and compliance with approval country limits.
  • Communicating with the Bank’s departments that are responsible for monitoring their specific foreign products and instruments activity to ensure limits are adhered to.
  • Save all approved CRS models, Quarterly Review of Country Exposure Limits memos, Country Credit Risk memos, and other relevant files in the designated folders in Credit Administration’s shared network drive.
  • Monitor for triggers that warrant curtailing credit exposure for a country or region.
  • Assist with obtaining credit approvals for exceptions or any transactions that exceed the approved country exposure limits that are escalated to Credit Administration.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: College graduate with a business or accounting degree preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience: 1+ year experience as a credit analyst or underwriter, preferably in a banking environment.
  • Skills/Ability: PC proficient. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word a plus. Organized and detail oriented.
OTHER DETAILS
$24.03 – $33.66 / hour
Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
