The Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center is seeking applications from Board Certified general internist for the position of staff physician, clinician-educator, Internal Medicine Clinic at the Burgdorf Health Center at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will excel at patient are and academic pursuits including quality improvement, program development, and/or research and have experience in educating medical residents and students. Knowledge of Spanish is preferred. The Burgdorf, an NCOA certified Patient Centered Medical Home, is an ambulatory care center serving the needs of an underserved community in the North End of Hartford, CT, and is a major teaching site for medical student and resident education for the University. The Burgdorf is also a major affiliate of the CT Institute for Primary Care Innovation, a collaboration between UConn and St. Francis Hospital.
The University of Connecticut Health Center will be adding about 100 new faculty members over the next few years as part of an exciting new initiative (Bioscience Connecticut), which also includes construction of a new patient care tower, ambulatory care building, renovation of research space, and expansion of the medical student class size.
